Rev Thomas Charles Skeggs was born on 10 May 1852 in London and died on 25 September 1927 at the Home of St Barnabas, Dormans, Lingfield, Surrey, aged 75. In 1879 he was Church of England Curate at St Thomas and then St Ambrose, Pendleton,Lancashire. Then in 1885 became Consular Chaplain in Marseilles,France & finally in 1900 was appointed Chaplain at the Church of the Holy Cross (Anglican Church) in Palermo,Sicily for 26 years, after which he returned to England.
