Thanks CharlesI would just like to say how grateful I am for your providing these photos free of charge. With relatives from before the age of photography in my family tree, I am very interested in any information I can glean about them. It is surprising to me how good clear images of headstones help to flesh out the kind of people these ancestors were. Thank You!
Also there were large families of Hartleys in the Wharfedale area of Otley, Guiseley, Adel etc. The headstone information also helps a lot to sort out who belonged to who.
Correction in transcriptHelen Hartley, daughter of David and Elizabeth Hartley, is transcribed as being 11 years old at her death in 1847. She was in fact 11 MONTHS old, as carved at bottom of gravestone. Her birth records can be found in 1846 records.
Corrected
