Peachey made a fortune in the West Indies and returned to his native Harrow. When Lord Byron was a schoolboy at Harrow School; he lay upon this tomb known as 'the Peachey stone' looking at the panormaic view and composing poetry. A memorial infront of the tomb includes lines from one of his poems written at this spot.
