Born in Monaco and trained in Italy; Bosio was a sculptor; painter; designer and engraver who flourished in the first half of the 19th century. His brother; Jean-François; was also an artist; and his nephew was also a sculptor. In Paris; one of his most well-known works is the statue of Louis XIV in the Place des Victoires. He was official portrait painter to Napoléon and his family.
