The second and third marquis were brothers; and the sons of a distinguished Napoleonic general. The inscription mixes up the name of the second son (and second husband of Marie Augustine) with the dates and details of the eldest son (the first husband of Marie Augustine)! Justin Napoléon (1800-1847); the 2nd Marquis; was a member of the French Parliament and ambassador to the German Diet. He died in Frankfurt in 1847; and it is these details which are recorded. However the name given is Justin Prudent; the 2nd son and 3rd marquis and second husband of Marie Augustine. He was a general who served in the Crimea; and died in 1863.
