Jacques Bingen was enlisted in 1939; and rallied to De Gaulle in London in 1940 after a heroic trip via Gibraltar and Casablanca. He was close to his brother-in-law André Citroën; and a leading figure before WW2 in the armaments industry. He was at first head of the Free French merchant navy; but later volunteered to parachute into france following the capture of the Resistance hero Jean Moulin.
