of Delafield James and Cornelia Delafield were my great-great grandparents. Their son Daniel James Delafield, born 1852 approx, moved with his uncle Thomas Delafield, to Abergavenny, South Wales. They set up in the brewery business & were very successful during the late 1800s and into the 20th century. Daniel James Delafield married Jane Bowen & they had 6 children: Ada, Annie, James (known as Jim & who went to Canada), Miriam (known as May), Mita (who died when a child) and Travers. Ada, the eldest child, and my maternal grandmother, was given her gradmother's name - Ada Mary Cornelia Delafield.
