Husband of Maud Katherine Dashwood (1882-1966). Lord of the Manor of Aston Rowant 1829-1950. Between 1896 and 1916 the founder of The Dashwood Foundation, Edward Hayes Dashwood, built a considerable number of flats and houses in Balham on the site of a farm – known still today as the Hyde Farm Estate. On 20 Nov 1946,The E Hayes Dashwood Foundation” aka “The Dashwood Foundation' was established by Edward to provide accommodation for disabled ex Service people and those who have served in the Merchant Navy.
