Master mariner. He was swept off the deck by a giant wave and dashed to pieces on the rocks at Aguilas. He was born in Sunderland to Charles Mills Wight and his wife Mary Ann Laing. Charles was also a master mariner and died of yellow fever at Havanna in 1864. Edward married Isabel or Isabella Alice Maddison and they had 5 children, of whom 2 sons and 2 daughters were living in 1911. Isabel died in 1941
