In 1725 Mary (last name unknown) marries William in Ifield, Sussex. William and Mary had son William in 1731 and John in 1739. William died 18 January 1776 and Mary in 1780. The inscription on her gravestone once read - - In memory of William Garard who died January 18th 1776 aged 85 years. Also Mary wife of William Garard who died 26th March 1780 aged 80 years. Further inscription read: A time to die there is known full well But when or where or how no man can tell Fly from sin vain man live Godly still The welcome death come when it will
