I believe this is the William Thomas King who drowned in a boating accident in Shoreham Harbour on 2nd April 1858 at the age of 44. His father was Thomas King from Bocking in Essex, a drummer with the West Essex Militia at the time of William's birth, and later a cordwainer. His mother is thought to be Elizabeth Gates from New Shoreham.
