Robert Posnett (1831-1908), the fourth son of The Rev. Leonard Posnett and Mary Knight was born in Sleaford, Lincolnshire 23 February 1831 (NOT 1830). He attended Woodhouse Grove School in Bradford (as his brothers Leonard, Joseph and William did later. The Rev. Robert and the Rev. Joseph were prominent figures in the Wesleyan movement In 1858 Robert Posnett was married to Mary Anne, daughter of William Walker of Bolton, who was born in Wakefield in 1834.
