The follow note is stored against Elizabeth Stanbridge record:

Thomas became the village Blacksmith at Turner’s Hill. The Smithy was at the crossroads at the top of the hill and immediately opposite the turnpike. Since Turner’s hill is roughly halfway on what was one of the major roads between London and Brighton. One would, therefore, presume that this was a ’plum’ site for a Blacksmith. At least by 1843, Tom and his family were living at what is now the Manse for the Vicar of the nearby St Leonard’s Church but which was only built in 1895. The manse has undoubtedly been extended and modernized since the ‘Stanbridge’s’ lived there.Thomas married Elizabeth JARVIS at Worth on 4 Mar 1833. She was born in Brecknockshire, Wales and it is uncertain how they came to meet. However, once more, marriage had become a necessity since their first child was born soon after. After only fifteen years of marriage, Elizabeth followed her elder daughter to the grave as a result of consumption. Possibly she had contracted it whilst nursing Olivia who had died on 2 Mar 1849 and died herself on 16 Dec that same year.
