North Devon Journal 28.10.1915 8C Braunton Death The death occurred on Thursday, at Braunton, of Mr John Parkin Scobling. Deceased, who was 65 years of age, had served 20 years in the Navy. He was a familiar figure in Braunton, and was well known and respected. Two sons, who are in the services, were unable to be present at the interment - they are Mr Fred Scobling, who is in hospital in France, and Mr John Scobling, who is in the Dardanelles. The interment was made in the St. Brannocks Burial Ground on Tuesday, the mourners being Minnie and husband (daughter and son in law); Miss Violet Scobling, Plymouth (daughter); Mrs Terry and Mr May.
