Service No. 588. Was Missing in Action after a plane he was flying crashed in Northern Territory , north east of Darwin 24th September 1944 while returning from an operational flight to Port Moresby . The cash was attributed to the lack of visibility due to extensive grass fires across the Top End at the time. By all appearances he survived the crash but his body was never found. He was responsible for the designing and building of Widgeon 11 biplane flying boat.
