James Shipcott is the brother of the A. Brock mentioned on the stone. He was born on 13 Aug 1842. 'A Brock' is Annie Brock(nee Shipcott) who was born 3 Jan 1844 in Long Down, Holcombe Burnell, and married John Brock in January 1870 in Monkleigh, Devon. John Brock was born in 1845 in Buckland Brewer, the son of Samuel Brock (1815-1895) and his wife Ann (nee Perkin) (1818-1868). Walter Josiah Brock , first child of John and Annie was born Q1 1871 and died Q2 1871.
