Memorial Inscription: Burying ground of George Clerk. In memory of Isobell Somervill, his spouse, who died 8th November 1840, aged 64 years ; also four of their children who died in infancy ; also of their daughter, Ann Clerk, wife of Alexander Downie of the General Register House, who died much regretted on 31st July 1845; and of George Clerk, died 14th February 1856; Elizabeth Clerk or M'Caul, wife of James M'Caul, who died 13th August 1863, aged 52 years; Grace M'Caul, their daughter, who died 4th September 1865, aged 25 years; the above Alexander Downie, who died 11th December 1861, aged 56 years; his son, William George Downie, who died 14th November 1874, aged 40 years ; also the above James M'Caul, who died 4th October 1875, aged 63 years.
