Sarah's birth name was Abbey - she was born in 1810 in Wortley Leeds daughter of Mary Bateson and Phillip Abbey. Mary Bateson was the daughter of Matthew Bateson 1763 Armley/Farnley/Wortley who in partnership with his brother James Bateson bought a Boulton and Watt engine in 1797 and began making wool cloth in Wortley. Phillip Abbey was born 1783 in Long Marston North Yorkshire. There is a memorial window to Henry of 1853, also brother William Joseph, in Mansfield St John Anglican church installed by Rev.
