Francis Alfred Kemp. 20th Australian Infantry Battalion. Military Medal - Military Medal - 'He led his men very gallantly during the operations in front of REINCOURT on 3rd May. He reorganised his men and led a bombing attack along the enemy trench. Although slightly wounded he did not withdraw until the Battalion was relieved. During the whole of the operations Sergeant KEMP's behaviour was most exemplary.' Source: 'Commonwealth Gazette' No. 189 Date: 8 November 1917. Killed in action 3rd October 1918 in France.
