Anna Cole was born in Woolland, Dorset in 1821. I have yet to track down her maiden name. After Thomas died she moved to Putney with her son Edgar Austin and daughter Louise Elizabeth. I am excited to find Louise Elizabeth in this same grave. It was she I was originally researching. She was the first wife of Robert McCubbin and died so young when her family of two were very young - 4 and 2. The two-year-old was my grandmother Isabel Anna Melita McCubbin. Both children were born in Malta. The McCubbins returned from Malta (a military posting) and I have yet to discover why Louisa died very soon after. I wonder if it may have been in childbirth. An extra detail of information - Robert McCubbin continued in military service and tragically lost his life in Gallipoli in 1915. He has a memorial grave out there in the Dardenelles. I am thrilled to have found this photo of the gravestone and am very grateful to those who have arranged this and made these details available online. Thank you so much.
