Harriett Orynthia O'Connor Samson was born in Jamaica on 1 Dec 1835 to Alexander Darnley Nairne 1805–1880 (Inspector of Police at Kingston, Ja) and Sarah Anna. She married Lt Col Alexander Milburn Wellington Samson in Jamaica and when he retired they settled in Northolt. Their children are: Alexander Wilmot Chimmo Nairne Samson 1872 – 1916; Harriette Annie O'Connor Nairne Samson 1857 – 1943; Elma Alexina Elizabeth Whitley Samson 1860 – 1921; Alice Matilda Allan Parr Samson 1863 – 1918; Kathleen Helena Beatrice Stewart Samson 1869 – 1962.
