Rev.John Bazett Doveton was born in St.Helena in 1807 to John Frederick DOVETON and Elizabeth CROSSMAN matriculated from Balliol College in 1825, aged 18, received his Bachelor of Arts in 1831 and in 1834 graduated from Downing College , Cambridge with a Masters of Arts.In December 1838 John Bazett Doveton married Harriet Mary Hart FENTON.This couple had 8 children.
