John Thornley was born in either late 1839 or early 1840 so the inscription probably reads 1841 not 1849 for his year of death. 1849 cannot be correct as this would mean he died after his brother William who was buried after John in 1847. St Peter's has his burial transcribed as taking place on 23rd July 1842.
