Member of the Board of Governors of the Bank of France from 1801; Thibon was a Deputy Governor of the Bank from 1806-1833 but was passed over by Napoléon who preferred another candidate for the position of Senior Deputy Governor. In March 1814 he received the Tsar of Russia; then occupying Paris; who guaranteed the safety of the Bank. His daughter Louise Anne married Baron Pierre de Cambacères; the great-nephew of the former Second Consul; Jean-Jacques de Cambacères.
