Youngest son. A respected banker in Edinburgh. Lived at West Coates House 1832-50. Took a prominent interest in the building of St. John's and was a Vestryman from 1824-57. He was a member of the Committee for the monument to Sir Walter Scott in Princes Street. To an accomplished mind; and dignified presence; combined with much affability of manner; he united great benevolence of disposition. Married on 8th February 1819; to his cousin. They were the parents of 9 sons and 2 daughters. George died 26th September at Moniack Castle just outside Inverness. Interred in north west corner of top section of East Burial Ground. Window erected in 1858 by widow and family.
