of Newby upon Swale twice Lord Mayor of York died September 3rd. Rear-Admiral Sir Tancred Robinson, 3rd Bt. was born circa 1685. He was the son of Sir William Robinson, 1st Bt. and Mary Aislabie. He married Mary Norton, daughter of Rowland Norton and Margaret Robinson, in 1713. He died in 1754. He held the office of Lord Mayor of York in 1718. He held the office of Lord Mayor of York in 1738. He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Robinson, of Newby, co. York [E., 1690] on 2 December 1738. He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral of the White.
