Son of John Chandler who married Jane Freeman in Fressingfield in 1832, known as James Chandler through the 1841 to 1881 censuses and is stated as married to Priscilla from 1851, where she is listed throughout as Priscilla Chandler. All the children are also listed as Chandlers, including Titus, whose name also appears on this headstone as Titus Spore. Why they all reverted to Spore, Priscilla's maiden name, for the purposes of this headstone is open to speculation.
