Born Kate Hatcliffe 11 Mar 1872 in Welton-le-Wold, Lincolnshire, daughter of James and Lucy (nee Tuxworth) Hatcliffe. She married John Pennell 25 Dec 1896 and they had 8 children (7 of them girls). They moved to Cleethorpes in 1912. She died of cancer. John is buried in the same grave, though without acknowledgement on the stone. He died in 1962.
