Mahala was born at East Walton, Norfolk, to William FORKS (or Fawkes)(1803-1874) and Mary Anne WARD (1801–??). Mahala married Robert George DAWES (or Daws) (1830–1887) on 14 Feb 1852. Robert and Mahala farmed and lived at Wizard Lodge, Winch Rd, Gayton. (Submitted by great grandson John W. Dawes, Melbourne, Australia)
