George Madgwick was born in Linch West Sussex in 1883.He was the oldest child of Rebecca Madgwick.As a child he lived in Fernhurst,Slindon,Worth and Ifield before marrying his step fathers neice Beatrice Godly in 1909.He served in the Royal Engineers during ww 1 tunneling under German trenches.He had seven children and spent his life working for Stennings Timber yard.He died in 1962
