Mr Jacob Linklater Gill was born in 1979 in New Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire. He was married to Susan Tait on 22nd June 1904 at St Phillips Church, Portobello,Edinburgh.In 1906 the couple moved to Crieff in Perthshire where Mr. Gill learned his trade in the grocery business.In 1936 he purchased his own business at 26,West High Street, which still bears his name over the door (2012).Mr and Mrs Gill had 2 children a son and daughter.Mr Gill was very active in the local church and was senior elder, very well known and respected in the town.He lived for many years at his home St Johns, Strathern Terrace Crieff and was a very keen gardener.After his retirement he went to live with his daughter Mrs Sharp in Cellardyke.
