Reported as a possible P.O.W. in Kavieng in Pacific Islands Monthly Nov 1942 (NAA A518 , DS16/2/1 Part 1 P.221). Reportly drowned 1st July 1942 with the sinking of the Montevideo Maru (NAA A518 GR16/2/1 P55) but there is now doubt regarding this information given by the Japanese.
