Henry, son of William and Elizabeth Mead, was baptised on 12 January 1815 at St Mary's Church, Hennock, Devon. After their marriage Henry and Martha lived in the hamlet of Knighton, Hennock until 1871 when they had moved to Marwood, Barnstaple. Their children were all born here between 1841 and 1858.
