Kenneth was the son of William John Charles Jennings (known as Charles or Charlie). Prior to the 2WW he worked as a cinema projectionist. He was in the navy in the 2WW serving in minesweepers on patrol in the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. After the war he worked at Ransomes, Simms and Jeffries in Ipswich working up from the factory floor to a senior position working in his latter years before retirement in the maintenance of the factory machinery and installing new German machines at one point after translating the instructions from German into English.
