Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Anna Baikie was my great aunt, an older sister of my grandmother Jemima Baikie. My mother often spoke about the tragedy of Doddy, who died of meningitis in ERI, and obviously Harry, who gave his life for his country. Our children are now interested in the family history and I have spent some months pulling together as much as possible and filling 2 lever arch binders in the process. Our son is in Australia, our daughter still in the UK, but for him in particular, I feel a sense of urgency that if I don't get this done in my lifetime, the links to his past will be severed. I already knew quite a lot about our family but this has been an enriching experience that I have thoroughly appreciated. I would be very grateful to receive a photo of the gravestone, to add to my file about the Sutherlands of Haster and if received, will acknowledge, with thanks, at the earliest opportunity. I would like to help as a volunteer, but I live in Hexham in Northumberland and sadly have no car.
