The death occurred in Mater Miseri- cordiac Hospital, Waratah, of Mrs Mary Ann Ward, widow of the late James Ward, at the age ot 75 years after an illness or three months. Al- though fortified by all the rights of her holy religion, which she loved so dear- ly, her end was unexpected. She was the daughter of the late Mary Ann and George Collins, and was born at Branxton, at the site now occupied by Brown and Patton, where her par- ents conducted a business. In the year 1877 she was married at Branxton by Rev. Father Foran, and resided at Greta for a while, when later they oc- cupied the Royal Federal Hotel at Branxton up till the time of the 1893 flood, after which time they conducted a bakery at Branxton. Later they moved to Clarencetown, where they fol- lowed dairying pursuits. About the year 1907 they returned to Branxton, where they both spent the rest of their days, her husband having pre-deceased her by 15 years. She is survived by seven sons and two daughters:- Albert, Hinton, George, Stroud; James, Grafton, William, Ham- ilton; Charles, Mayfield, Edward, Bris- Fix this textbane; Frank, Hamilton, Mary (Mrs. E Lewis, nurse), Branxton, amd Gertrude, (Mrs. Delaney), Branxton. The remains were interred in the Catholic Cemetery, Branxton, after Requiem Mass. Rev. Father Kelly offi- tiated at the graveside, and also offer- ed up Mass. The pall bearers were four sons—Edward, Frank, Charles, and William. Deepest sympathy is extend- ed to the bereaved family.
