Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I may be descended from Robert Lockart Ross via my Grandmother Bella Ross and my mother Helen Ross Christie
(requested on 12 10 2011)
For genealogical purposes.
(requested on 05 07 2015)
Col Robert Lockhart- Ross' wife - Caroline Hagart MacBean - was my 3rd cousin 6x removed. So this is genealogy research from Ist principles, connecting three historic families - the Balnagowan Ross, the Arniston Dundas, and the Tomatin MacBean families. My American relatives will be 'delighted' with the knowledge that Robert's father - Admiral Sir John was sent to chase John Paul Jones out of the North Sea and back to America.
