Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I'm trying to trace the family name for my children. I think the spelling of this name may have changed over the years. There seems to only be a few with the e on the end of the name, most are spelt without the e. I think the family first came to England in the sixteenth century but i may have a problem finding this information. They seem to have been involved in ship building and the name seems to be found in the north/East coast example Southshilds, Durham. I came across this site by asking what the name meant.

Family research. Rev Lamballe was a cousin of my mother's father, Thomas Lambelle. Rev Lamballe changed his name to Lamballe by deed poll.
