I think this refers to my 2nd cousin 2 times removed, David Clarson, born 1880 at Masborough, Yorks, son of John Clarson, bricklayer and his wife Sarah Clayton. David was unmarried, a colliery labourer. David Clarson, Private, #242416, enlisted with the Yorkshire Light Infantry, 10th Bn, and served in France. He was killed in action on 4 Oct 1917 at Polygon Wood, Belfium, and is commemorated at Tyne Cot cemetery, Ieper, Belgium.
