The date of death is indicated as 1812; but internet research indicate that this was in fact the date of birth and he died in 1872. Some sources cite a date of birth in 1822. (Addition 01 November 2016) Jacques Véronique was born in Paris on 30 July 1812, he is the son of Etienne Christophe, master-tailor, and Marie Josèphe Rosalie Boquet. He died in Paris on 26 September 1872, living 93, rue du Bac. However he is burried in Montpellier by his family in law. He married with Suzanne Antoinette Julie Monsservin, qualified as rentière. He graduated of Ecole polytechniques, X 1831, sorted 58 on 121 at the end of the course, choosing the Engineers in 1833, sorted 13 on 23. General officer, commandeur of the Légion d'Honneur, director of the Engineers at the end of the 2nd Empire and at the beginning of the 3rd Republic. General Jacques Véronique was appointed as State secretary in the war cabinet of Léon Gambetta during the French-Prussian War from 1870-1871. He contributed to reorganise the Armed Forces by creating 2 directions instead of one ; one for the Engineers and one for the Artillery. Jacques Véronique had a son, Henri Marie Charles, born in Paris on 26 August 1855, who was also graduated from Ecole polytechniques, X 1877, sorted 96 on 254 at the end of the course, choosing the Engineers in 1877, sorted 11 sur 39. He retired as a colonel, officier of the Légion d'Honneur on 10 July 1907, he died on 10 February 1917. |

Jean baptiste Louis Cadiergues did a carrier in the French administration préfectorale and was retired as a sous-préfet. He was born the 08 January 1834 in Lacapelle-Marival (Lot) and died the 05 May 1894 in Montpellier were he was finally buried. |
