Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

A friend with the surname Thomson contacted me re the Swanson connection. She is not computer literate and I volunteered to help with her research. The oldest record she has is of Arthur Thomson who, married Jean Swanson (also known as Jane), The couple (both 24 years of age) departed Plymouth and arrived in Port Phillip with their infant on The Blonde barque. I am unable to read the date from the micro-fish but it looks like 1848. My understanding is Arthur was a builder of houses and a carpenter, possibly making waterwheels.
