Third son of William Browne and Clara Collis, he was botn at Teignmouth, May 8th, 1822. Captain, 81st Foot, je served at LAhore during the indian mutiny, in Gilbraltar (1872) and in India. On April 8th, 1881, he married Dorcas Elizabeth Dally (1836-1885) daughter of Dennis Dally of Dally Castle, Co. Westmeath, and Isabella Norcott (born 1809 and daughter of James Norcott (1779-1855) and Dorcas Creagh (1788-1863).
