Johnina Brougham Benington is the mother of my great-grandfather, Charles Edward Benington who immigrated to South Africa. He died in Pretoria, the Gauteng Province (formally Transvaal) on July 4, 1914. He was the Chief of the city's Fire Station.

I am a direct descendant of William Henry Benington & his wife Johnina Brougham Crewdson Benington, through their youngest son, Charles Edward Benington (who immigrated to South Africa). Charles Edward, my great-grandfather, was the Chief of the Pretoria Fire Station until his death in a fire on 4 July 1914.
