Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am researching the names of people on the War Memorial at St Mary's Church, Carleton-in-Craven and this includes Charles Slingsby. Also named on the memorial are three of his cousins whose parents liven in Carleton. Charles Slingsby's granfather was one of the two Slingsby brothers who commissioned the building of two cotton mills in Carleton (in 1849 and 1861). For your information Charles' father was Frederick William Slingsby, I see you have listed his father's name as R W Slingsby,I wonder if this is a mis-transcription?

Charles died in a Military accident WW1 and I would like to add the gravestone to the family collection Thanks

I am researching the works of the York Sculptor, George Walker Milburn (1844-1941). I believe he may have caved this cross. A cross similar to it appears in his work book under the name 'Slingsby Cross, Moor Monkton, 1918' with considerable detail of the dimensions of, and the cost of carving, the cross.
