Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

My father, then Captain William Ewart Gladstone-Millar,was a close friend of William Radcliffe, and was with him when he was killed at the Second Battle of the Marne. My father actually buried him in the Bois of Coutron. He was subsequently re-buried in the War Graves Commission cemetery at Marfaux. My father went over to France to find this grave in the l950s. Are there relatives?

I am a library service officer working for Edinburgh city libraies we are having a talk from a lady on her fathers WW1 service. I believe William was his best friend. From only having his name and the date of his death we know this was him. We are trying to find any descendand as the person concerned wood like to plant a tree in our local memorial wood. Thank you
