Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

As I explained earlier, I am a Whiteoak by birth, and have spent a large part of my life (so far) researching the family history. Mary Martha is one member of a family group which used various spellings - at one time they were listed as Whiteoack, and later, as here, Whiteoake, but the spelling became fixed at the usual spelling of Whiteoak. Mary Martha's parents, John and Mary, are buried under that spelling at Boroughbridge.
