Younger brother of William Lindsell. They were sons of Jane Lindsell(nee Turner)who lived in a cottage in Back Lane and during a period was post-woman in East Hanningfield. Frederick remained a bachelor, living with his mother in Back Lane and later in 2, Shepherds Cottages in Old Church Road. He worked as a farm labourer, hedger and ditcher. Gentle and good-hearted, he never spoke of his dreadful World War One experiences(as remembered by his grand-nephew Terence)
