Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am a direct descendant of Robert Gairdner and Mcrae Smith. John is their oldest son and my 4xGG is his 3rd brother Robert. My Dad had collected books filled with letters, pictures and personal accounts before he died. Unfortunately it was before the internet became so family history friendly. While much of his information is accurate I am finding errors here and there and I want to make these correction as I am able. I live in Canada so a trip to Scotland isn't in my near future. The more I learn about the Gairdner family the more I love them. My Grandma was a Gairdner who was born in New Zealand but roots are in Scotland. The names on the Monument are many of the names I have with their appropriate relationships. I would love to have a copy of the image. Thank you, Deb Nalder

Thank you so much for all the work you have done for those of us who don't have access to these precious parts of our family. If you would like information about the relationships between John and others on the monument I would be happy to provide them. I am finishing a work my father spent years on before his death. The internet has become more family history friendly and I know he would have loved to have seen some the records that are available. You can not do this work without falling in love with your roots and the countries they come from. I live in Alberta, Canada and I travel through my computer. :)

The names on the monument seem to fit with the family I am researching, in particular I want to check out the two by name of David Tennant. Details are a bit disjointed so guess it is due to details becoming unreadable? Many thanks Jan

I believe this is the grave or monument of my 4 x Great Grandmother and intrigued by Gairdner link as my 2 x great grandmother was a Gairdner
