Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I'm researching my biological maternal grandfather, George Watts b. Axford, Wiltshire circa 1900. I'm told his wife was named Mary. My grandfather had 5 siblings, Eleanor, Sidney, Leonard, Alan and William. George Watts was supposedly a merchant seaman who dies somewhere in 1939 or 1940. My mother, Ingrid lived with her mother, Ranghild (Woldike) in London during the war. Ranghild married a Canadian soldier after the war and the family came to Canada. I do not know if my mothers parents were ever married or were together after my mother was born.
