Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Charles Hubbard is an ancestor of mine; he is an older brother of my 2 x great-grandfather, Henry Hubbard (1835-1888). I believe his full name was Charles George Hubbard but that may be incorrect. He is the 3rd child of 10 to be born to Charles Bromley Hubbard and Mary Sparkes of West Walton, Norfolk. Most, of this Hubbard line, were rather wealthy farmers; along with five other prominent farming families of the area. Our Hubbards had a close relationship with the Handley family, with many marriages between the two families - in several cases where 1st cousins married. Although Charles was born in Walpole St Peter, most all of these Hubbards were very loyal to the West Walton parish church, St Mary (the Virgin) and this is where Charles, and his siblings, were christened - Charles on 1 Dec 1831. Charles became a successful farmer, ultimately owning a farm of 270 acres in Terrington St Clement and previously in Clenchwarton. He spent his final years farming and owning/operating the New Swan Inn in Clenchwarton. Kind regards, Heather Holdgate Whitby, Ontario, Canada Thank you for this wonderful picture of his and his wife's headstone; her name was Mary Ann Terrington who was born in 1838 in Terrington St John.
